Dress Code
Trends and golf fashions change over time.
Ardglass Golf Club recognises and accepts these changes will continue to occur going forward.
The Club’s Council recommend ‘smart casual’ in all areas of the clubhouse and what is currently considered to be ‘recognised golfing apparel’ to be worn on the golf course. ‘Smart casual’ may also include the wearing of smart jeans and training shoes.
Our staff on duty, the Club’s Director of Golf and Members of Council will govern the interpretation of ‘smart casual’.
Please respect their decision if you are approached on this issue.
While we wish all our members and visitors to feel comfortable in the clubhouse and on the course, the following items of dress are unacceptable at all times:
- Untailored shorts or sports shorts
- Tracksuits / leisure suits / shell suit tops or bottoms / replica football shirts
- Garments displaying prominent slogans
- Sweaters / sweatshirts without a shirt
- Sleeveless singlets or sun tops T-shirts
- Headgear should be removed while in the clubhouse.
Soft spiked or spikeless golf shoes are required everywhere on the course, including the practice putting green. In the clubhouse golf shoes are only permitted in the locker rooms, front hall and pro-shop on the ground floor. They are not permitted in either the MacAfee Suite or the upper floors of the clubhouse.
