“As a Welshman in exile in Hungary, I dont get to play too many links Courses. Booked the tee time some 3 weeks ago and have been checking the weather daily.
The photos and comments on the website, dont do the course justice. The views are stunning with the mountains of mourn forming a splendid backdrop. And if you look really closely, I swear you can see Wales in the distance.
The course, while not being too long is fantastic. There was a slight breeze today, nothing excessive but enough to keep you honest. The undulations, some obvious, some not so, just added to the experience. Quite a few holes where you can give it a go, but on another day when the wind is up you do so at your peril.
A hidden gem, a great course and a fantastic game of golf.
One more thing. In Wales we sing: “we keep a welcome in the hillside”. That welcome has been extended across the Irish sea to Ardglass. Everyone was so nice and genuinely nice. From the lady captain, the pro who doubles as a barista and the 3 gentlemen in front of us, lovely, lovely people.
Looking forward to returning. “
